A Case of Complicated Course of Fracture of the Distal Metaepiphysis of the Radius

INTRODUCTION: Zudek syndrome (neuroreflex algodystrophy, accompanied by osteoporosis, limited range of motion in the wrist and interphalangeal joints, impaired blood flow associated trophic alterations) accounts for up to 62% complications fracture distal metaepiphysis radius. It may be a consequence primary action pathological factors (I type), or result from compression peripheral nerves (II type). The article describes clinical case illustrating occurrence almost all critical errors treatment process (non-performance local anesthesia reposition fragments; fixation hand vicious (for this type fracture) flexion position 3 weeks; lack physiotherapy, anti-inflammatory kinesitherapeutic treatment; use “aggressive” mechanotherapy passive restoration volume movements “hard” massage against background pain syndrome) that contributed development given II complication. As result, surgical correction was required — corrective osteotomy radius eliminate cause ulnar median restore interrelations between articular surfaces joint. CONCLUSION: Non-observance principles “typical place” (emergency care; adequate anesthesia; immediate sparing reposition; subsequent radiological control, functional management; sufficient period immobilization; early physiotherapy kinesitherapy; etc.) provoke such threatening complication as characterized prolonged disability inflicting physical moral suffering. Besides, it is with high cost function damaged limb, significantly exceeding economic standard.
